How to build this App

This page shows how it is possible to build this concept and App for the web browser, to be accessible for everyone.

The more the VR technology evolves the more user scenarios become powerful and various. But for the developer it becomes more and more complex to develop VR experiences in a scalable and efficient way for a wide range of user scenarios and real world physical contexts."

Progressive Web App

"Native app store apps do things like send push notifications, work offline, look and feel like an app (as Apple and Google have imagined them), load on the homescreen, and so on and so forth. Mobile Web Apps accessed in a mobile browser, by comparison, historically haven’t done those things. Progressive Web Apps fix that with new Web APIs, new design concepts, and new buzzwords." — Max Lynch (CEO, Ionic Framework)

What is WebVR?

WebVR is an open specification that makes it possible to experience VR in your browser. The goal is to make it easier for everyone to get into VR experiences, no matter what device you have.

Krpano is a very popular 360 viewer and it was adapted for Smart Stories. This viewer is a small and very flexible high-performance viewer for all kind of panoramic images and interactive virtual tours. The viewer is designed for the usage inside the browser on desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux) and on mobiles/tablets (iPhone, iPad, Android, …).

Web Bluetooth API

"Web Bluetooth is a new technology that connects the Web with the Internet of Things. Web Bluetooth is a a new technology that connects the Web with the Internet of Things.

Essentially, Web Bluetooth lets you control any Bluetooth Low Energy device (smart home appliances, health accessories like heart rate or glucose monitors, temperature sensors, etc.) directly from your PC or Smartphone, without having to install an app first."— Uri Shaked (Google Developer Expert for Web Technologies)

Speech recoginition

"The Web Speech API allows you to interact with a website by talking and receiving audio feedback from the website. This new interaction method can allow users to cook while simultaneously looking for recipes and receiving instructions from a website.

The Web Speech API is composed of two parts: speech recognition and speech synthesis. Speech recognition is the browser’s ability to recognize what the user said. Developers can implement methods to interpret what the user said and associate with a work flow for the user to interact with the site. Speech synthesis is the browser’s ability to provide audio feedback. Developers can use speech synthesis to guide the user and relay information back to the user." — Winston Chen (Engineer, Samsung)

React JS

ReactJS is an open-source JavaScript library which is used for building user interfaces specifically for single page applications. It’s used for handling view layer for web and mobile apps. React also allows us to create reusable UI components.

React allows developers to create large web applications which can change data, without reloading the page. The main purpose of React is to be fast, scalable, and simple. It works only on user interfaces in application. This corresponds to view in the MVC template.
